Trading Associate
Position Summary
Under general supervision, this position provides exceptional and timely service to customers by executing trades, answering various questions and performing account and order management. This position has significant interaction with customers and other firms.
Essential Functions
- Executes trades on behalf of customer including accepting incoming trade requests, performing trades and confirming results to customer.
- Provides customer service including answering questions regarding software, margins and general trading.
- Handles and resolves trading disputes.
- Analyzes issues quickly and determines time estimates for issue resolution, escalating calls when necessary.
- Performs account management functions such as updating account position, adjusting buying power, performing corporate action changes and allocation changes.
- Manages all outstanding orders and day-to-day orders.
- Acts as a first point of contact for disaster recovery to ensure systems are functioning properly.
- Performs related duties as required.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 1-2 years brokerage experience required.
- Series 7 license required; Series 3 and 63 licenses or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to understand financial industry technical jargon.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required for interaction with customers and other firms.
- Good analytical and mathematical skills and attention to detail required.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Direct access trading platform experience required.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite required.
